About the job

The Senior Business Analyst is a critical part of the Portfolio Delivery Leadership team.  This role is designed to support and assist with the implementation of the future state target operating model, under our Strategic Delivery Office, by critically analyzing current state business solutions across people, process, and technology dimensions, to identify; design; prepare; and implement new capabilities required.

As the BA you will be expected to support a portfolio of projects and/or work packages that seek to remediate security and resilience risks of business applications. Remediation will scale from the simple to more complex issues like applying patches to bring applications up to the latest versions or migrating the tech stack to align with our standard operating environment.


Responsibilities for the role:


  • Creation of Business and Technical Requirements and managing their lifecycle, incl. traceability, against submitted work by various delivery partners
  • Business Benefits Management – Registers, Benefits Dependency Networks, and lifecycle management
  • Developing Business Process Maps using BPMN 2.0 as required
  • This role will have a strong focus on eliciting from data, interface, and security needs across a range of existing business applications.
  • Analyse and document solution design requirements including non-functional, interface and data requirements and undertake requirements lifecycle management activities aligned with business capability standards and expectations and ensuring consistency of outcomes
  • Provide informed advice to technical implementation resources on the business impacts of implementation options and compromises.
  • Contribute and participate in prototyping activities where required.
  • Performing system analysis on application, interface (API) and data model designs to assure successful delivery of business outcomes.
  • Supporting change management resources by providing analysis on embed and sustain strategy and risks.
  • Requirements Life Cycle Management (trace, maintain, prioritise, assess, and approve)

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven track record in requirements elicitation, business and systems analysis and design, gap analysis, data and process modelling and implementation of business and systems improvements.
  • Elicited business requirements from product owner and other SMEs
  • Developed the story map and product backlog with the product owner including periodic backlog grooming
  • Engaged with stakeholders to identify and confirm requirements and documented ‘as-is’ and ‘tobe’ models
  • Experience analysing and designing operational business processes.
  • Performed gap analysis and identified improvement opportunities for the system as well as the business.
  • Experience in leading and collaborating with cross-functional agile teams in remote and on-site client environments during both design and development sprints.
  • A structured approach to solving problems and the ability to drive project outcomes in ambiguous fast-moving projects.
